Surface Stories Collective: An Exploration of Ceramic Surface

July 24 - August 2, 2026
Gallery 1065
1065 Bloor St. West, Toronto

I had the chance to be part of the Surface Stories Collective, which brought together a cohort of non-ceramic artists who stepped beyond our usual practices to explore the possibilities of ceramic surface design. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative studio sessions, each artist transformed new ideas into unexpected works. This exhibition showcased these original creations while revealing the experimentation, exchange, and creative discoveries that shaped the journey.

Ceramics - even if just working on its surface - is a humbling medium and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to try an idea, fail, and try again. I loved adapting my drawing approaches to clay surface and look forward to continuing this exploration.

Art Design Craft: Toronto Modern Quilt Guild, Quilt Showcase 2026

May 1-2, 2026
Wychwood Barns
601 Christie St, Ontario

I was delighted to be part of the TMQG’s first quilt showcase. My Sparkle Quilt was one of over 60 quilts on display at the Wychwood Barns, an historic venue in Toronto. It was inspiring to see the unique and creative work of our members - so many approaches to this time honoured craft!

Exploring Horizon(s): Canadian Painting Exhibition

June 12 - July 12, 2025
ARTiculations Art Supply
2802 Dundas St West, Toronto

I’m pleased to have work in this group show, that invited artists to “reflect on the vast and varied terrain of the Canadian landscape, works that interpret land, place, and horizon - real or imagined - through painting.” It features many interpretations of what the Canadian landscape can be, see the list of participating artists here. I have two gouache pieces in the show:

Bendale Ravine, 9 x 12 in (first image) and

View into the Don Valley, looking east, 2 x 3 in (installation image for scale!)

PICNIC

June 10 - August 2, 2025
Durand Coffee
142 Charlton Ave West, Hamilton

A summery group show bringing together artists for a delicious visual picnic - I contributed an embroidered piece that plays with disposable picnic plates. Focusing on their shapes and patterns, I made a sampler of both the recognizable forms and embroidery stitches.

Picnic Sampler, 27 x 27 inches, cotton fabric and embroidery thread, machine and hand sewn.

Part of DesignTO Festival 2025

This window installation is composed of a large textile panel featuring quilt blocks made of scrap and recycled fabric. Through a series of repeating patchwork patterns, ‘City Blocks’ presents a vocabulary that is informed by the built environment around us now. The shapes and forms of the quilt blocks are distilled from familiar elements we encounter every day, reflecting this place and the landscapes of this city. Read more and see images here.
