We are surrounded by pattern: from the prints on our clothes, to the paper we wrap gifts with, to the sheets we sleep on, our lives are enhanced by repeat patterns of all kinds. Spend a morning immersed in all things surface pattern design, as you develop your very own repeating patterns to use in your art, craft or textile projects.
You will learn two approaches to making repeat patterns in this 3-hour workshop. Sarah will guide you through the design process and demonstrate how to carve your blocks, and share tips and tricks to ensure a beautiful seamless print. You will leave with several sheets of your own hand printed paper, your carved blocks, and an ink pad to continue experimenting at home. Light snacks included!
All skill levels welcome!
